Portfolio One comprises twelve fine-art photographs drawn from Kent Gunnufson's landmark book Tracking the Snowshoe Itinerant — images made along the historic snowshoe routes of Summit County, Colorado, tracing the journeys of Father John Dyer, the legendary "Snowshoe Itinerant" who carried the mail through the Rocky Mountain gold camps in the 1860s.
These prints were sold in Denver's finest photographic galleries throughout the 1980s, including the David Hills Gallery, Ginny Williams Gallery, Camera Obscura Gallery, and the Eclipse Gallery in Boulder. They represent some of the most celebrated work of Gunnufson's early career — black-and-white landscapes of extraordinary clarity and emotional depth.
