Submitters agree to the following conditions:
Selection of entries is at the sole decision of the juror(s). Only entries selected by the jurors will be included in the Colorado Environmental Photography Exhibit.
Only images meeting the submission requirements will be accepted: Upload sRGB or RGB files (standard); at 72 ppi resolution; in JPG format; that are sized to 1,280 pixels on the longest side; layers flattened; 8 bit mode; jpg compression level 7.
File names can not include #$%^&*()! or other similar characters.
Watermarking, digital mattes, frames or borders, copyright notices, or signatures in the images are not acceptable.
Do not include text with the image unless it is an integral part of the image.
Notification of Selected Images
Artists of selected work will need to send or hand deliver the framed photograph to the American Mountaineering Center in Golden, Colorado. Selection notices will be sent prior to November 1, 2009 to the email address used in registration. Entries selected for the exhibition are require to be matted and framed with a wire on the back ready to be hung on the wall. Framed photographs will be shipped to and from the American Mountaineering Center’s Gallery at exhibitor’s expense. Prepaid return shipping and label need to be included with the photographs. Additional details will be provided with the announcement.
Grand Prize Award
The Grand Price artists will be the subject of a 5-10 minute video with the photographer's images edited into the segment. One version will be streamed over the Internet and a DVD copy made available to the photographer. The interview will be archived at the American Alpine Club Library. The production will be made while the photographer is in Golden at the gallery reception. If the photographer is out of the area and can't make the reception, a telephone interview will be utilized.
Images selected for the Environmental Photography Exhibition will be shown at the American Mountaineering Center from November 5 through November 30, 2009. They will also be edited into a promotional clip with credits to promote and stimulate interest in the environment. The clip will be used in many venues to promote the following year’s exhibition.
Ownership & Rights
Submitter must be creator and sole copyright owner. Copyright always remains with the creator/submitter.
Submission (the offer) with acceptance to exhibition constitutes agreement to allow photographs to be reproduced, published and/or exhibited for promotional purposes for the Environmental Photography Exhibition and Film Festival. Submitter also agrees to provide biographical material and grant a release for its use in publication and broadcast upon acceptance to the exhibit.
All model and property releases are the responsibility of entrant.
All entrants shall hold harmless the Colorado Environmental Film Festival, the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education , and the American Mountaineering Center and their associates, volunteers, employees, media partners and sponsors for any reason, and indemnify them and be responsible for actual attorney fees for any dispute from the use of their images. Entrants agree that any disputes shall be resolved within the laws and jurisdiction of Denver, Colorado.
Severalty, any element of this agreement found to be unenforceable shall not invalidate the other elements nor the agreement as a whole.
Entry Fee
* The non-refundable fee is $30 and includes up to three images.
* Additional entries may be submitted for an additional $10 each.
